EBA Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Structural Engineering Department Manager who will help deepen our structural engineering expertise, help our company continue to deliver exceptional and client-focused design and engineering services, and supervise and mentor our talented staff. The candidate must have extensive experience working with the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) as well as local government transportation engineering departments, consultants, and contractors.

The salary range for the Structural Engineering Department Manager position is between $122,000 - $152,000 annually based on experience.
As the Structural Engineering Department Manager, you will manage and oversee departmental operational matters and expand EBA's services by executing business development and marketing strategies that will result in new contract awards.
Types of Projects and Contracts within the Structural Engineering Department:
Design of transportation structures (bridges, culverts, retaining walls, noise walls, etc.), including new, replacement, and rehabilitation for MDOT and local agencies
Load rating analysis of transportation structures for MDOT and local agencies, including over-weight permit analysis
Condition inspection and evaluation of transportation structures for MDOT and local agencies
Design, inspection, and evaluation of buildings and facilities (e.g., parking garages, wastewater structures, vaults, marine structures, piers and bulkheads, etc.), including new, replacement, and rehabilitation for Maryland DGS, Baltimore City DGS, counties, cities, and private clients
Highway and traffic engineering for roadway projects, including design of new roadways, hiker/biker trails, intersection improvements, traffic calming designs, maintenance of traffic design and analysis, etc.
Manage and oversee operational, technical, and administrative matters for a 15-person operation
Work closely with EBA's executive leadership team and marketing department to increase the company visibility, strategic partnerships, and contract awards
Search and respond to invitations to bids (RFP's)
Perform proposal development, pricing, contract negotiations, and management
Implement and enhance consistent practices to ensure services are delivered in accordance with company initiatives, expectations, and the strategic plan
Ensure adherence to company quality control program and safety standards
Provide technical direction and guidance, as well as hands-on project management, as needed, to mentor staff
Represent EBA at industry-related professional organization events, conferences, meetings, panels, trade shows, symposiums, and workshops
Education and Experience Requirements
10+ years of experience in structural engineering
5+ years of experience and proven track record of success in managing complex projects
5+ years of experience in managerial or supervisory role
5+ years of experience in client management and business development
Demonstrated experience working with MDOT and local government transportation departments
Proficient in proposal development, pricing, contract negotiations, management, and procurement
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
A professional engineering (P.E.) license
Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
U.S. citizen, Green Card resident, or work authorization in the United States
Ability to successfully pass a federal, state, and local security background check
