The Traffic Engineering Division is seeking an individual to assist with the Work Zone Safety Program. Duties include, but are not limited to: assisting with the development of work zone safety policies, procedures and strategies; providing interpretation of work zone safety requirements; conducting annual reviews of construction and maintenance projects to assess compliance with policy, practices and procedures; and investigating new work zone safety technologies, devices, and programs for improving safety and mobility for employees and external customers.

Knowledge of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). Extensive knowledge of traffic engineering and work zone safety principles, practices and standards. Knowledge of project development and design processes. Experience in roadway construction/maintenance activities. Experience in Microstation. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
